Ever since the Mahjong scene in Crazy Rich Asians I've been curious about Mahjong. I didn't really know anything about it, but was interested in learning about this "new" game that was bringing friends together. So, when a friend mentioned she played American Mahjong and offered to teach me and a group of friends, we all said yes.
So, I'm now officially in my Mahjong era—and like most things, I quickly learned that having the right setup makes the whole experience better. It's fun, it's strategic, it brings us together once a week for a couple of hours.
