Ever since the Mahjong scene in Crazy Rich Asians I've been curious about Mahjong. When a friend mentioned she played American Mahjong and offered to teach me and a group of friends, we all said yes. It's fun, it's strategic, and it brings us together once a week for a couple of hours.

Shopping for Mahjong tiles/sets can be a bit overwhelming. There are some gorgeous sets and you could easily spend thousands on tiles and a mat alone, not to mention all the accessories! BUT, you don't have to. Below is my basic setup: cute and functional.
